Issue Summary:

Following the recent service instability caused by issues with the Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI), all services have now been fully migrated to VMware and are operating normally.

Updates

21.11. 11:30AM

Update on the status of our system migrations following our recent Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) outage. All services have been successfully migrated and are now fully operational.
We are now formally closing the incident and moving into Business-as-Usual support arrangements.

Update on the status of our system migrations following our recent Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) outage. We have made significant progress, and several services have already been successfully migrated and are now fully operational. UK Data Services left to be migrated. The date will be confirmed.

The team is still actively working on migrating the services off from HCI.
Current stable systems are: Archibus, Kinetics, Sierra Library Service, Sentry, RDS Management, Remote Desktop Gateway Service, Onyx attendance monitoring (door scanners), OpenLab.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to restore full functionality.

During Saturday and Sunday, the IT service team worked hard to resolve issues. They successfully stabilised some of the services and made them operational again. Currently, these services are Kinetics, OpenLab, Sierra Library Service, Sentry, RDS Management, Remote Desktop Gateway Service. The team continues dedicated efforts to eliminate outages and establish reliable operation of the remaining services. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to restore full functionality.

After last night’s maintenance and the solutions implemented this morning, there have been no concrete results, and the analysis and resolution of the current issue continue. This means that the HCI platform remains unavailable, and there will be issues accessing the listed services. IT Services is doing everything possible to restore the cluster’s stability as quickly as possible.

IT Services undertook essential emergency maintenance on our Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) this evening, Friday 14 November 2025.
However, during post-maintenance checks, further instability was identified. As a result, the HCI platform should be considered unavailable until midday on Saturday 15 November 2025, when we will provide a further update.

Our team is actively working on resolving the issue. Please note that all HCI services will become unavailable from 18:15 (6:15 PM) until approximately 22:00 (10 PM). We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to restore full functionality.
