Summary

Impact to users and services affected: There is currently an issue with the network which is affecting network connectivity across all campuses, including Dept W. The issue has been reported and is being investigated by IT Services.

Service Updates

28th Oct 2021

16:00 – Update: The network has remained stable throughout he day and no further issues have ben reported tot he IT Service Desk. This is the final update. If you are still experiencing issues with network connections please contact the IT Service Desk for support.

We apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused

08:45 – Update: The network service remains stable after the change last night. Our checks and tests this morning show that everything is operating as normal. We will continue to monitor the service throughout the day and have asked our internet vendors to check the health of our service for added assurance.

27th Oct 2021

20:45 – Update: We have now successfully restored the network to its original state and have carried out checks to ensure the network remains stable. we believe the issue has been fixed, but will continue to monitor the service overnight and during the course of the day to ensure the issue has been fully resolved.

15:30 – Update: We continue to work with our suppliers to complete the work to fully restore the network to its original state at 20:05 this evening. In order to do this we expect that there will be a brief interruption of five minutes or less to connections, including voice and video calls, and you may need to restart the application you are using to restore the connection.

We apologies for this additional interruption and have made every effort to select a time of least inconvenience

13:00 – Update : The network continues to remain stable, we believe we have found the cause of the incident and have taken steps to mitigate this. we are now focusing on restoring services back to the original set up.

11:00 – Update: The network service remains stable, we have taken measures to manage the traffic flow whilst we continue to investigate the underlying cause.

10:00 – Update:
we are still investigating but have managed to get the network stable for now, please bear with us whilst we identify the root cause and apply a permanent fix
