Summary
Impact to users and services affected: On the weekend of Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September, IT Services will be migrating network switches, which means that there will be a brief network outage across our facilities in Mile End. The purpose of this work is to improve our network and reduce the chance of unplanned outages.
On Saturday 7 September we expect a short 10-minute outage of network connection for each building at Mile End (see list of affected buildings below). We are unable to share specific timeframes for each building, but the downtime will run for around 10-minutes per building between the hours of 9am and 5pm. On Sunday, whilst we do not anticipate any outage, there is a small risk that some may occur.
Whilst we expect this work to just cause a small brief outage of network, and that everything will continue as normal after the brief outages, if you do have any issues after this has taken place please inform ITS by raising a ticket via the IT Service Desk.
