What are we doing?
Work is being done on the networking of physical phone handsets to prepare for the roll-out of new handsets in the coming months.
Why are we doing it?
This work is necessary for the coming roll-out of replacement handsets throughout QMUL, part of the ongoing upgrade of QMUL telephony services.
Impact to users and services affected:
Any calls in progress to/from physical phone handsets will be dropped. This impact will only be for a period of a few minutes within the scheduled maintenance windows, rather than for the whole period.
There will be no change to the operation of physical phone handsets following the completion of the changes.
