Resolved: UPDATED: BCI downtime – Friday 15 February, 6pm to Monday 19 February, 10am

Thursday, 15 February 2024, 6.00pm - Monday, 19 February 2024, 10.00am

Summary

Maintenance duration: Friday 15th February, 6pm to Monday to 19th February, 10am

Impact to users and services affected: IT Services and the Barts Cancer Institute IT team are working to relocate BCI and Data Safe Haven services to an existing data centre due to the contract ending with the existing data centre supplier. The existing contract cannot be extended. This activity is unrelated to the recent network incident and has been planned for some time.

We appreciate the disruption caused by the recent network incident and apologise for any further disruption this relocation may cause.

There will be a period of service interruption, from 6pm on Thursday 15th February until 10am on Monday 19th February.

During this time, the following services will be unavailable:

  • BCI desktops and servers
  • Citrix
  • Clinical Web Services (Oracle/Java/Tomcat, WebClinica, OpenClinica, Redcap, Core Pathology LIMS)
  • Research File Store Q:\ drive
  • Any other Services not listed below.

These recently migrated services should not be affected during this period:

  • ITS Managed laptops and desktops
  • Office 365 including email services, SharePoint and OneDrive
  • LabArchives
  • GraphPad Prism
  • BCI website
  • Centre for the Cell website

We apologise for any disruption this may cause and will write again as we get closer to the time to provide additional guidance on how to prepare for this service interruption.

Best wishes,

BCI IT team and IT Services (CH\ 18351|
