Resolved: Essential Maintenance of University – Remote Access Services (FortiClient VPN Client) – Tuesday 3/1/23 to Friday 17/3/23

Summary

Maintenance Duration: 15 mins per device, work will complete when every device has upgraded and can take weeks to reach 100% of devices.

Impact to users and services affected: There will be an interruption to user experience on managed staff laptops (remote devices using FortiClient VPN software) whilst working remotely. This will be triggered once the device connects on the VPN and syncs with the network at some point from Tuesday 3rd January onwards. The user experience interruption will last at most 10-15 minutes. This is to allow for an important upgrade to the VPN systems.
