Update 22nd Dec

15:30 – Resolved
TurnItIn submissions are now being processed successfully, but the large backlog means it may be several days before all queued submission are correctly processed.

11:00 – The technical Change was completed last night, we are active monitoring the performance and assessing if all the queued assignments are going through successfully,

Update 21st Dec

14:30 – We are carrying out the preparatory work for this evenings technical change.

11:25 – Our tests are ongoing and will be completed this afternoon. A technical change is being made to QMplus this evening, between 9pm and 11pm, which will require QMplus to be unavailable for some time during that period.  Further changes will be made Wednesday morning (not requiring QMplus downtime).  In combination we believe these changes will resolve the issue

Update 20th Dec

17:00 – We are refreshing the databases overnight to run a script that have we believe may help resolve the issue. We plan to test this in our test environment tomorrow to review the outcome.

14:50 – The investigations are ongoing with our vendors

11:15 – We are still investigating the cause of the issue and following up on possible avenues that may help to solve the issue.

Update 17th Dec

17:20 – We have been informed of further instances of onward submission failure to Turnitin, and have escalated this to the vendor. We are trying to identify other avenues to bring this issue to a resolution. Please note that assignments are still being uploaded correctly to QMplus.

14:30 – There are no further updates, the work to identify the root cause with our Vendors is still ongoing.

Update 16th Dec

17:30 – There are no further updates, we continue to work with the vendors to identify the root cause.

Update 15th Dec

17:05 – Students are able to submit assignments via QMplus, and IT technical teams continue to work with our suppliers to identify and resolve the root cause .

09:30 – No further updates

Update: 14th Dec

17:45 – We can confirm that (even if the student receives an error message) student submissions will have been stored in QMplus and be available to educators – it is only the submission to TurnItIn (where applicable to a module) that has failed in some cases.  There is no firm resolution yet to addressing the backlog of failed and queued TurnItIn submissions and investigations are continuing with our suppliers.

16:00 – There is no further progress update

13;10 – A review of the logs has shown that new submissions are now being processed correctly, albeit they are delayed while the system queues them for processing. With the help of the vendor, we are investigating the best approach to the addressing the backlog of failed and queued submissions.

10:55 -The investigations with our vendors are ongoing, a review of the logs have shown that some submissions are being processed correctly, and others are being delayed while the system ques submission for processing. With the help of the vendor, we have made some changes which should help speed up processing of submissions.

Update : – 13th Dec

17:00 – The issue is still being investigated with our vendors, we are testing several theories to find a fix and to understand what may be causing the issue. We will provide further updates tomorrow as the investigation progresses.

13:30 – The issue has been reported to Turnit and Catalyst, who have been investigating the issue. A report on the errors generated by the system and is being investigated.
