Resolved: Scheduled: Maintenance Charterhouse Square Legacy Firewall Replacement – Sunday 1st October, 9am to 11am

Summary

Maintenance Window: Sunday 1st October, 9am to 11am

Impact to users and services affected: Please be advised that there will be up to two brief (5-10 minute) interruptions between 9am and 11am on Sunday morning.

A new firewall for a small number of legacy clients (circa. 160 devices) at the Charterhouse Square will be replaced on Sunday Morning. There will be one brief interruption to service, with a second potential interruption if the change needs to be rolled back.

This change does not affect core IT Services such as wireless, telephony, QMUL Managed laptops & desktops etc. This change also does not affect services provided by the BCI IT Team.

We are expecting the policy on the new firewall to match exactly the old firewall it is replacing. However if you do find access to any services restricted on the Monday morning (2nd October), please raise a request with the IT Service Desk and access will be promptly restored.
