Resolved: Moving Legacy Router Inkberry to New Routing Backbone – Thursday 21 October, 7am to 9am – Mile End Campus -West

Thursday, 21 October 2021, 7.00 - 9.00am

Summary

Maintenance Duration: 2 hours, Thursday 21 October between 7am to 9am

Impact to users and services affected:  As part of the core network refresh project a legacy router is to be moved to a new routing backbone.

The change will cause legacy networks to experience a brief interruption to services (20-30 minutes) although the maintenance duration of the 2 hours should be considered as at risk. Access to services and networks will be disrupted and will be at risk between 7am. and 9am. for the following departments at Mile End Campus – West (West of, and including Queens Building).

  • School of Electronic Engineering & Computer Science
  • School of Engineering
  • IT Services
  • School of Biological and Chemical Sciences
  • Corporate affairs
  • Reprographics (copy shop)
  • Post room

Please note that the internet access via Wi-Fi will not be affected by this change.

Note: Mile End Campus has been split into two separate zones. East of Queens Building and West of (and including) Queens Building.

The changes are scheduled to minimise inconvenience to staff & students. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time.
